LRT Radio programme Tuzinas. Researcher Monika Mačiulienė on the mistakes and reputation of science

"It is not right that so many scientists are working, yet nobody understands what they do," says researcher Monika Mačiulienė, who acknowledges that the image of closed-off scientists, entrenched over many years, has to change. Monika says that around the world there is ever wider talk of ordinary people getting involved in science projects, in which not only is critical thinking developed but incredible discoveries are also made. One example is related to space exploration, when in 2020 an ordinary citizen, examining data made public by NASA, discovered a new planet. Is this possible in Lithuania too?
Twelve points on the image of the scientist, the mistakes of science and public involvement in humanity's most important discoveries, with Dr Monika Mačiulienė, head of the VILNIUS TECH Citizen Science Centre. Host: Ignas Klėjus
