Lithuanian Citizen Science Association

The association brings together citizen science researchers and practitioners in Lithuania and acts as a communication and coordination hub for the growing community.

Goals

  1. Bring together researchers and practitioners engaged in the study and practice of citizen science.
  2. Act as a communication and coordination hub for the growing citizen science community in Lithuania.
  3. Organise science communication events, present research and promote citizen science projects.

Dr. Monika Mačiulienė

Founder and Director

She studies participatory research methods, citizen science and open science.

Prof. dr. Eglė Butkevičienė

Founding member

Professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities of Kaunas University of Technology, where she heads the citizen science research group. Member of the Board of the European Citizen Science Association (ECSA).

Dr. Diana Marčiulynienė

Founding member

Chief Researcher at the Institute of Forestry of the Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry (LAMMC). She studies forest and urban tree health, pests and diseases, and uses citizen science approaches for tree health and biodiversity conservation.

Membership

Membership is open to any legally capable natural person aged 18 or over, and to any legal entity operating under the laws of the Republic of Lithuania, who recognises the goals of the association and agrees to take an active part in its activities.

The board of the association reviews each application and gives its decision within 30 working days of submission. The decision is sent to the email address given in the application.
