A science festival in Lithuania this September. This year we look to space

On 10 September the XXIII science festival "Erdvėlaivis Žemė" begins. It is an annual free science popularisation event that draws thousands of curious Lithuanians every year. This year the festival turns its gaze to the sky.

Space research is one of the most topical fields of science in the 21st century. Cosmologists, astrophysicists and astrobiologists work in it. They study the evolution of the Universe and the Solar System, the conditions for the emergence of life in space and the nature of dark energy and dark matter, and they search for exoplanets.

The festival will offer an opportunity to talk to Lithuania's best researchers, who will share the latest knowledge and talk about the international projects they take part in. Space technology companies and start-ups will invite visitors to get to know the technologies they are developing.

The science festival is also a great opportunity for citizen science enthusiasts. Meetings with researchers, discussions, hands-on sessions: all of this invites citizens not only to watch science from the sidelines, but also to touch it themselves.

The full festival programme will be published in August, so it is worth following the festival website.

You will find more information on the science festival website.
