In 2022 five university libraries in the Baltic countries, together with two international partners, set out on a shared journey with the aim of introducing libraries and librarians to knowledge about citizen science. We soon realised that it was necessary to involve and educate not only librarians but also other university staff and the public.
The LibOCS team is pleased to present and share the project results, which were prepared with library staff in mind but are also suitable for everyone interested in citizen science. The most important achievements are these:
- The open access self-study course "Citizen Science for Librarians", intended for everyone who is interested in citizen science and wants to learn at their own pace;
- A list of resources on citizen science, bringing together more than 100 different useful resources in the "Zenodo" repository;
- The open access resource "Citizen Science Toolkit for Librarians", which provides a variety of material covering seven citizen science and open science topics.
All these resources, webinar slides, project reports, survey analyses and more can be found in the LibOCS project collection in the "Zenodo" repository.
