The European Commission is announcing two new Horizon Europe calls directly related to citizen science and public engagement in research. Lithuanian institutions meet the eligibility criteria.
The call HORIZON-WIDERA-2027-05-ERA-04 invites applications from organisations seeking to strengthen public participation in research and to foster scientific literacy.
The other call, HORIZON-WIDERA-2027-05-ERA-03, invites cities and partners to develop and implement the programme "Science Comes to Town 2029", which connects citizens and science through participatory events. The deadline is also 11 March 2027.
Although the deadline is still some way off, it is recommended to start preparing applications in advance: in EU projects, the partner search and the preparation of documents usually take several months.
More information is available on the Horizon Europe Funding and Tenders Portal, and an overview of the calls on the European Research Area platform.
