The association takes part in the FIDELIS mentoring programme and prepares training for digital repositories

The Lithuanian Citizen Science Association takes part in the mentoring and peer-to-peer support programme of FIDELIS, a project funded by the European Commission. FIDELIS helps digital repositories become more accessible and trustworthy, and in its programmes repository staff from across Europe share practical experience. The association is represented by Dr. Monika Mačiulienė, who was selected for the first cohort of FIDELIS mentors.
The association works in Support Programme #3, "Fostering engagement between repositories and end users". For this programme it prepared the training "Designing with your users, not for them: participatory approaches for repositories", held online on 30 September 2026.
What the training covers
- How a busy researcher reads and decides: they scan the text and look for a few words that match their task.
- How to design repository pages, buttons and emails for that kind of reader.
- How to get to know your users: conversations with depositors, personas and a map of the deposit journey.
- What honest participation requires: a clear promise about who decides what, and reporting back to those who took part.
The training applies the participatory methods the association uses in citizen science and co-creation projects to open science infrastructure.
