Scientific discussion "Decoding public trust and science communication in the digital age"

On 26 June, during the international SOCIN`24 conference, a scientific discussion is being organised on a topic relevant to communication science, "Visuomenės pasitikėjimo mokslu ir mokslo komunikacijos reikšmė skaitmeniniame amžiuje" (in English, Decoding public trust and science communication in the digital age).

The panel session is organised by Dr Mačiulienė, leader of the LMT-funded project INFODEMIJA, and researchers of the MRU Institute of Communication. The results and scientific insights of the projects INFODEMIJA (P-VIS-23-57), MARTINI (CHIST-ERA-22-1) and CLIMAS (Horizon Europe No. 101094021) will be presented for discussion.

The discussion will examine the issues of public trust in science and will cover strategies for combating disinformation and tools created by scientists.

Both scientists and all interested persons concerned with the issue of fake news are invited to take part in the meeting.

The SOCIN`24 conference will take place on MRU premises on 25-27 June.

INFODEMIJA: "Increasing trust in science as a means of strengthening society's resilience to fake news in the context of climate change"

MARTINI: "Profiling and detecting malicious accounts in digital social networks using artificial intelligence"

CLIMAS: "A toolbox for involving citizens in preparing to deal with the consequences of climate change".
